On 12th August 2016, students of Masters of Social Work, Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College, Tiruchirapalli visited MOHAN Foundation office as part of their education tour. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Ms. Sujatha N of MOHAN Foundation interacted with them.
Dr. Hemal explained the Concepts of Organ Donation, about the transplant coordinators training course and showed a few films to highlight the role of Tamil Nadu as a leader in Organ Donation. Ms. Sujatha explained how the NGO functions, the roles and responsibility of each department.
All the 18 students actively participated in the discussion and asked many queries regarding organ donation, allocation and job opportunities in smaller towns.
At the end there were quizzed about what they learnt and MOHAN Foundation conducted an impromptu slogan writing competition.
Ms. N. Chitra, Head of the Department of Social Work of the college accompanied the students and thanked MOHAN Foundation for the warm welcome and educative session. 8 students picked a donor card and pledged to donate their organs.
