MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Rajeshwari of Global Indian International School to conduct organ donation awareness session at Silver Jubilee Degree College, Hyderabad on 3rd August 2015. This session was organized as a part of community outreach program for the school students of Global Indian International School.
The session began with school students displaying the posters made by them and introducing the concept of organ donation. Dr. Koti Reddy explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation and the role played by media in taking forward organ donation.
There were about 100 college students that attended the program and all of them were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The college students positively to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation in community as a part of NSS initiative.
We thank Mr. B. Shankar, Principal of Silver Jubilee Degree College for his kind support in organizing this awareness session and also thank all the students for their support in making this a grand success.
