Law students learn about organ donation in Nagpur

  • On the August 11, 2016, Dr. P. Lokhande, assistant professor of Ambedkar Law College, invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness program on organ donation for their students.  

    Dr. P. Lokhande introduced Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur. Dr Wankhede gave a talk through audio-visual  presentation. He gave information difference between cardiac death and brain death;  which  organ can be donated after cardiac death and brain death; the importance of blood donation how it helps people in need; value of wearing a helmet, need for organs; the legal and ethical aspects of organ donation and the process of pledging to organs. He requested the students to use MOHAN Foundation website and helpline number to clarify doubts.    

    The session highlighted how they can be part of this noble cause by pledging their organs and how it can help others by  joining the cause.

    75 students attended the session and 2 of them picked a donor card.
