Donor Memorial

  • Mr. Asim  Bhushan- 60 Years

On the afternoon of November 19, 2025, at 3:40 pm, the Tripura team of MOHAN Foundation received a call from Govind Ballabh Pant & Agartala Government Medical College Hospital informing them that 60-year-old Mr. Asim Bhushan had passed away due to complications arising from a stroke and that his family was willing to donate both corneas of the deceased.

While his passing brought deep sorrow to his family and loved ones, they displayed remarkable strength and compassion during this difficult time.

The MOHAN Foundation Tripura team assisted the family in coordinating with the eye bank to facilitate the eye donation, as it was Mr. Asim Bhushan's wish to donate his eyes. However, after prolonged discussions and waiting, the corneal donation could not be carried out due to unavoidable circumstances and certain limitations at the eye bank.

Subsequently, the MOHAN Foundation team counselled the family on the significance and impact of whole body donation. After understanding its value for medical education and research, the family graciously agreed to donate Mr. Bhushan's body.

Whole body donation is a noble and selfless act that provides future medical professionals with invaluable practical learning and plays a vital role in advancing medical science. A single individual's final gift can educate countless students and create a lasting positive impact on society.

Even in their moment of grief, the family's courage, generosity, and sense of social responsibility were truly commendable. Through his final act, Mr. Asim Bhushan set a powerful example of humanity and service, inspiring awareness and encouraging others to consider such selfless contributions.

The whole body donation was successfully carried out by the medical team of AGMC & GBP Hospital, with coordination and counselling support from the MOHAN Foundation Tripura team.
