Webinar on Organ Donation conducted for members of Police Gymkhana, Nagpur

  • On 8th May 2021, on the occasion of Red Cross Day, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness webinar on Organ Donation at Police Gymkhana, Nagpur.

    Dr Pankaj Raj requested MOHAN Foundation to conducts awareness session on organ donation for members of Police Gymkhana. Awareness session was organized over the Zoom meeting platform.

    Ms Prarthana Dwivedi (Transplant Coordinator) began session by elaborating MOHAN Foundation mission, vision and activities to the participants. She briefly explained about Organ and Tissue donation. The following topics were explained in detail to the audience:

    MOHAN Foundation and its activities

    • Brain Stem Death
    • Circulatory Death
    • Organ allocation system
    • Eye, Skin & Bone donation
    • Importance of a Donor Card

     

    During the interaction, the audience raised questions related to the following:

    • In coma condition why patients cannot donate their organ.
    • Unclaimed body are used for study purpose.
    • Brain Stem Death Certification Process.

    Around 45 members participated in this awareness session which took place online. The session lasted for more than an hour and was highly interactive.
