Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 3 November 2017. The awareness talk was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.
Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:
v What is Organ Donation, who can donate organ & what can be donated
v Brain Death Natural Death and Coma
v Myths related to Organ donation
v Deceased donation case in Nagpur
v Law on Transplantation & Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
It was a very interactive session.20 drivers were present at the talk. 5 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
