  Dr. Wankhede felicitated

  On 17^th August 2021, Dr. Dipak Deshmukh, the Secretary of Suretech College of Nursing, Nagpur, invited Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director of MOHAN Foundation, for an event that was held to commemorate Organ Donation Day.

  Dr. Wankhede was felicitated ahead of the event. Alongside Dr. Deshmukh, Ms. Mercy Anjore - Principal, Ms. Savita Dhoble - Assistant Professor, Ms. Susanna Thallapally - Associate Professor, students of BSC Nursing and GNM students were present in the conference hall of the college.

  Dr. Wankhede used a PowerPoint presentation and covered the following points during his talk:

  • Organ donation and tissue donation
  • Difference between coma and brain death
  • Difference between natural death and drain death
  • The organ donation process
  • Organs and tissues that can be donated after natural death and brain death
  • Role of ZTCC
  • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO and SOTTO in organ donation and transplantation
  • Transplant Law
  • MOHAN Foundation’ activities
  • Importance of donor card
  • MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number and website

  Around 300 people, including students and faculty attended the session and 5 of them signed up to donate organs upon death. In the end, Dr. Deshmukh delivered the vote of thanks.
