Updated on Wednesday, October 1, 2025
  • On 11th September 2025 – A large-scale organ donation awareness program at Srividhyanjali Junior Vocational College, Ibrahimpatnam, was a massive success, effectively engaging over 350 students and faculty members from the Intermediate 1st and 2nd years.

The crucial awareness drive was spearheaded by Mr. Venkatesh Kattela, Project Manager from the Mohan Foundation. To maximize impact and ensure a comfortable environment for open discussion, Mr. Venkatesh Kattela implemented a successful strategy of conducting two separate, focused sessions: one exclusively for girls and one for boys.

The engaging talks comprehensively covered the essential and often misunderstood aspects of organ donation, including:

    • The critical need for organ donors and the life-saving impact of a single donation.
    • The difference between brain death and cardiac death.
    • Addressing cultural sensitivities and debunking common myths that prevent people from pledging.
    • The consent and simple legal process involved in becoming a donor.

The program was carefully scheduled to ensure minimal disruption to the students' regular classes. The event culminated in a highly positive display of community spirit, with both students and faculty members expressing their overwhelming encouragement and support by actively pledging to donate their organs.

This initiative underscores the college community's strong commitment to social responsibility and marks a significant step in spreading the life-saving message of organ donation among young adults.
