Sensitization webinar conducted on Organ Donation for NCC Cadets of 20 Maharashtra Battalion, Nagpur.

  • On 16th January 2022, during the annual training camp of NCC cadets, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation organized a webinar on awareness of organ donation for 20 Maharashtra Battalion NCC Cadets.

    Col Sanjay Kadam - Associate NCC Officer (CMO) of Nagpur region coordinated this webinar on awareness of organ donation.

    Ms. Prarthana introduced MOHAN Foundation and Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation.

    She then began her presentation by discussing the following topics

    1. What comes to your mind when you think of organ donation?
    2. Why and when organ transplant is required.
    3. Types of donors.
      1. Living donor
      2. Deceased donor
    4. Types of Death- Brain death and Circulatory death
    5. Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA)
    6. Myths and facts of organ donation
    7. Procedure of eye, skin and body donation
    8. MOHAN Foundation helpline number was displayed to the audience.

     

    Questions asked by the participants were as follows

    • What is the purpose of body donation?
    • Can a cancer deceased person donate his skin?

     

    The session was inspiring and motivating. 69 participants attended the session. We thank Col. Sanjay Kadam for inviting us to conduct this awareness session on organ donation.
