  On 31^st May, 2022, organ donation awareness talk was conducted by Mr. Bulu Behera at Hanuman Mandir, Hill Top, Nagpur. Dr. Santhosh Mujamdar, corporator of Ram Nagar was instrumental in conducting a session on organ donation, so he invited Mr. Bulu to conduct this talk. The beneficiaries were general public and devotees who visited the temple.

  Mr. Bulu began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission and vision.

  Thereafter he touched on the below topics about organ donation

  1. Concept of organ donation.
  2. Types of donor- Living donor, Deceased donor
  3. Types of death- Circulatory death and Brain death
  4. Procedure of eye, skin and bone donation.
  5. Age limit to donate organs.
  6. Myths and facts about organ donation were highlighted.
  7. Donor card and how to pledge organs were explained

   

  Lastly, he shared information on the ways the audience could get involved and support organ donation. He encouraged and appealed to each one of them to become ambassadors of organ donation.

  Questions asked by the audience were as follows:

  1) After a person’s dead within what duration of time the body should be donated?

  2) After natural death within what duration of time the corneas should be donated?

  3) How to pledge our organs?

  All the questions were answered by Mr. Bulu Behera patiently. Around 30 devotees attended the session. Mr. Bulu thanked Dr. Santosh Mujumdar for inviting him and giving him an opportunity to present his talk on organ donation to the devotees.
