  • On June 10, 2015, MOHAN Foundation was invited to a press conference at the launch of CORD (Campaign on Organ Donation), organised at the Press Club of India, Raisina Road, New Delhi. CORD was an initiative of Saroj Super Speciality Hospital in association with MOHAN Foundation and Organ India.

Saroj Super Speciality Hospital is a healthcare provider, par excellence, fast establishing itself as a global industry model in the tertiary healthcare system of India. Operating since 1996, this 220+ bedded multi speciality hospital, located in the North west region of Delhi is well equipped with latest technologies and modern amenities. The hospital launched its multi-party programme (CORD) to create awareness on organ donation with five key action points, namely; advocacy for establishment of organ donation registry, enrollment of three multi-organ donors per day, advocacy for inclusion of organ donation in school curriculum, creating network of youth influencers and aggressive use of social media tools to drive sensitisation.

Dr. P.K. Bhardwaj (Medical Director & HOD-Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery), Dr. Sunil Shroff (Managing Trustee, MF), Dr. Ravinder Pal Singh Malhotra (Director & HOD, Centre for Liver Transplant & Gastro Sciences) and Mr Pankaj Chawla (Trustee, Saroj Super Speciality Hospital) inaugurated the campaign.

Dr. Sunil Shroff in his message supported hospital's initiative and stressed on the need for people to come forward and pledge their organs as India's organ donation rate at 0.34 per million population was among the lowest in the world.

Ms. Sunayana Singh of ORGAN India shared her organisation's objective to include organ donation in school curriculum and to work with government and schools to sensitise and create awareness on it.

The event concluded with questions from the press.

On June 13, 2015, the hospital organised the launch ceremony of its Multi Organ Transplant Centre at Hotel Taj Palace, SP Marg, New Delhi. It was attended by NGO's, health care personnel and doctors working in the field of organ donation and transplantation.

The programme started with lamp lighting ceremony followed by welcome address by Brig. M. Khajuria (Director, Administration, Saroj Super Speciality Hospital). Other attractions of the evening were live performances by Trio Violin Band and 'New Lease of Life' a visual depiction through Sand Art.
