Every year, “Organ Donor Week” in the month of August is dedicated to the memory of all the organ donors in our country. This year, MOHAN Foundation has been asked by the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India to organize an event on organ donation awareness, under the WHO biennium 2010-11. A street theatre competition for social work students will kick-start the event. This will be followed by a CME on issues related to brain death and organ donation for the medical professionals and transplant coordinators of all transplant centres in Tamilnadu in association with the State Cadaver Transplant Programme. We are also going to felicitate the families of deceased organ donors who through their timely decision have given a new lease of life to many patients.
