On 3rd August 2025, a total of over 2,000 participants took part in the third edition of the Telangana 10K Run for Organ Donation, held on Sunday morning at Sanjeevaiah Park, Necklace Road. The event was organised by the MOHAN Foundation to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation and was timed to coincide with World Organ Donation Day 2025.
The run featured two categories, 5K and 10K and brought together runners, fitness enthusiasts, healthcare professionals and citizens, all united in promoting the gift of life through organ donation. The initiative also aimed to encourage more people to register as organ donors and break the stigma surrounding organ donation in India.
MP and former Health Minister Etala Rajender flagged off the run, joined by dignitaries including Bank of India General Manager (South) Manoj Kumar Srivastava and MOHAN Foundation CEO Raghuram.
Speaking at the event, Raghuram shared real-life stories of lives saved through organ donation. He said the run was not just about fitness, but also about spreading hope, building awareness and inspiring action.
The Telangana 10K Run has become one of the State’s largest public campaigns focused on organ donation, helping spark conversations across communities and encouraging life-saving decisions among citizens.
