The new year started with an opportunity to speak to parents of young chess players. The Time 2 Chess academy organized a chess tournament for children on Jan 1, 2025. This was conducted in their premises at Kilpauk, Chennai. They partnered with MOHAN Foundation to create awareness on organ donation through an information desk.
Children within the age of 8 -14 participated in the tournament. MOHAN Foundation was represented by Dr Hemal Kanvinde, who set up an information desk. Around 80 parents were given information brochures and requests to approach with their queries.
Some parents spoke about eye donation, age for donation, how to support a family who has a patient with organ failure. 5 people picked a donor card.
