Organ donation awareness session for drivers in Nagpur

• On 15^th March 2016, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur Centre was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered gave a PPP on organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points-

  • Difference between Coma & Brain death
  • Types of Organ Donation
  • Process of Body Donation
  •  Information of THO Act. Commercial dealing in organ donation & transplantation is illegal
  • Process of Eye & Skin Donation
  • Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur
  • Functions of organ donation helpline number & MOHAN Foundation website

   

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 55 persons were present during the talk. 22 drivers took the consent forms, and said they will discuss with their family members then sign consent form.

   In case of natural death which organ we can donate?

  What is the importance of THO act?
