Organ donation Awareness talk at Fortis Hospital, Jaipur

  • On 22 May 2015, MOHAN Foundation- Jaipur Citizens Forum (MFJCF) conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Fortis Hospital, Jaipur. It is a 300 bedded and well equipped hospital which serves the general public.

     

    This awareness talk was organized to create awareness amongst senior citizens on the subject of cadaver transplant subject. More than 60 senior citizens participated in talk.

     

    Mr. Utpal Rajoria, Project Manager explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation primarily focusing on the types of donations, how to diagnose brain death, tissue donation, the Transplant Law of India and statistics on the said subject. A short film on brain death was shown.

     

    The session was conducted in an interactive manner where the participants chipped in with their views on recent coverage of organ donation stories in the media and also with unhesitant inquiries throughout.

     

    The participants related to the stories of organ donors and were very touched by them. The testimonial of Miss. Khooshbo Mehta whose mother passed away prematurely and has been involved in the cause ever since helped them to take up the cause.

     

    Most of them picked up donor cards and study material and promised to work with us as a volunteer.
