On December 7, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation organized an organ donation awareness stall at Super Specialty Hospital, Tukdoji Square, Nagpur. The stall led by coordinator Mr. Bulu J. Behera and invited by Dr. Sushama Thakare, the event targeted kidney patients and their families near the hospital's OPD.
The stall aimed to educate visitors on organ, tissue, and body donation, along with transplantation processes. It featured materials like donor cards, banners, pamphlets, and standees to spread awareness about ethical and legal considerations, government financial support, and donation procedures. Mr. Behera explained the differences between natural and brain death donations, age criteria, and time factors.
The stall attracted 39 visitors, with 5 individuals took pledge for organ donation on-site, and others showing interest in registering online. Visitors inquired about liver transplant documentation and the legality of organ donation.
MOHAN Foundation expressed gratitude to Dr. Thakare for supporting this initiative, which has significantly contributed to raising awareness and promoting organ donation.
