The MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, was invited to participate in the launch event of the book “Bharari”, authored by Mr. Sumedh Kamble, held on June 8, 2025, at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Convention Centre Auditorium, Kamptee Road, Teka Naka, Nagpur. The literary event served as an excellent platform to raise awareness about organ and body donation among a diverse and engaged audience.
As part of the outreach initiative, the MOHAN Foundation set up an Organ and Body Donation Information Desk. The desk was led by Mrs. Veena Wathore, Project Director, MOHAN Foundation Nagpur, supported by MS Bhagyashree Nighot and intern MS Abhivyakti Jambhulkar.
The team actively engaged with attendees, addressing common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ and body donation. Informational brochures and donor pledge forms were distributed to those who expressed interest. Through one-on-one conversations, Mrs. Wathore and MS Nighot emphasized the life-saving and transformative impact of organ and body donation, encouraging individuals to consider it as a generous contribution to the well-being of future generations.
The event drew approximately 800 guests, many of whom visited the MOHAN Foundation desk. As a result of the awareness efforts, around 17 individuals took the pledge to donate their organs or bodies.
The participation of the MOHAN Foundation in this literary gathering not only strengthened public engagement but also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between health organizations, civil society, and cultural groups. The event concluded on a positive and impactful note, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to promoting ethical and informed decision-making in organ and body donation.
