On February 25, 2026, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador from the MOHAN Foundation, set up an organ donation information desk at the blood donation camp organised by Loving Hearts Goa in collaboration with St. Britto High School and the North Goa District Hospital Blood Bank (Asilo). The camp was held from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A total of 45 individuals registered for blood donation, of whom 32 successfully donated.
Mr. Vian Lobo, proprietor of Cell World and Samsung Smart Cafe in Porvorim, supported the camp as a proud alumnus of the 1995 batch of St. Britto High School.
During the event, Mr. Pereira encouraged blood donors to also consider pledging for organ donation. He explained that organ donation is possible only after a person is declared brain dead. Individuals who pass away at home due to circulatory death may be eligible for tissue donation or whole-body donation. In both situations, family consent remains essential.
Approximately 50 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) flyers on organ donation were distributed to attendees. Two individuals pledged to become organ donors during the camp.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Pereira expressed his sincere gratitude to Rev. Fr. Basil, Headmaster, and Rev. Fr. Denzil, Primary In-charge, for their support and for providing the MOHAN Foundation the opportunity to participate in the camp.
