Organ Donation Information Desk at a Temple in Nagpur

  • On 12th January 2020, MOHAN Foundation put up an information desk on organ donation at Shri Laxmi Narayana Shiv Mandir in Nandanvan, Nagpur. A stall equipped with banners, standee, information brochures and donor cards was set up to give information to the devotees visiting the temple.

    The following points were explained to the visitors:

    • Types of death
    • Organs that can be donated after brain death, natural death and while living
    • Where is waitlist for organ failure patients available and how to register in it?
    • Who can donate organs and value of donor card
    • MOHAN Foundation’s activities
    • Helpline number and MOHAN Foundation website

    Around 55 pilgrims visited the stall, 10 of them signed consent form & received the donor cards, and 10 others picked up consent forms to discuss with their families before pledging.

    A few questions asked by visitors:

    • Where is MOHAN Foundation’s office?
    • What is the process of eye donation?
    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
