

Mr. Marulappa LN, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation had requested Mr. Balakrishna (Teacher of ITI Central School, Bengaluru) to organise an awareness session for the NCC students of Grades 9 and 10. Mr. Balakrishna sought permission from the Principal of the school and an awareness session was conducted virtually on 27th August 2021. Around 53 students and staff attended the session.
Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision; the concept of organ and tissue donation; types of death - cardiac death and brain death; and procedure of deceased and living organ donation. Mrs. Ranjini then elaborated on the procedure of eye, skin, and bone donation; briefly explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe; touched upon the transplant law and the importance of a donor card.
Towards the end of the session, a motivational video was played for the audience. She also made it a point to inform the students to carry the important message to their parents at home as well and they all agreed to support the.
