MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Session for members of I Volunteer NGO Bengaluru

  • Mrs. Amrutha Narasimha, reached out to MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session for the team members of I Volunteer NGO in Bengaluru. A virtual talk was held on 21st August 2021, in the morning and was attended by around 42 members of the NGO.

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision; the concept of organ and tissue donation; types of death - cardiac death and brain death; brain death declaration; and procedure of deceased and living organ donation. Mrs. Ranjini then elaborated on the procedure of eye, skin, and bone donation; briefly explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe; touched upon the transplant law and the importance of a donor card. Myths and facts and barriers to organ donation were highlighted; an overview of the green corridor concept was also shared. A motivational video was played as the talk ended.

    All 42 members who attended the session, supported the cause that could save one’s life and proudly signed up as organ donors. After the session, a few volunteers expressed interest in taking up courses offered by the Foundation and Mrs. Ranjini shared the relevant details.
