Organ Donation Awareness for Tamil Nadu Makkal Nala Munnaetra Sangam

  • Tamil Nadu Makkal Nala Munnaetra Sangam on the occasion of their first anniversary invited MOHAN Foundation to give a speech on “ORGAN DONATION”. The transplant coordinator-Ms.Veena spoke about the basic concepts of organ donation after natural death and brain death. She explained the process of whole body donation and shared her personal experience in counseling brain dead donor families for organ donation at Government General Hospital, Chennai.

     

     Dr.Thangavelu spoke about the importance of maintaining healthy environment to keep oneself healthy. He said, if a person is healthy he can live for 100 years in his own body and still can continue to live in others by donating his organs and tissues after death. Thus by maintaining ones own personal hygiene and healthy domestic environment an individual can live for more than 500 years.

     

    Tamil Nadu Makkal Nala Munnaetra Sangam members distributed notebooks and pens for 1000 children at the end of the program. They also distributed “Wings of Fire – Dr.Abdul Kalam’s” book to many youngsters encouraging them to dream a better future and work hard to fulfill it.
