Organ Donation Awareness during Ganesh Puja in Nagpur

• Mr. Shabnam Thakar, the puja committee in-charge of Vaishali Nagar, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to deliver an awareness talk on organ donation during the Ganesh Puja celebrations of the locality.

  The talk was organized on 15^th September 2021 at Ganesh Chowk and Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation was the speaker. He covered the following topics during his talk addressing the devotees gathered:

  • Introduction to MOHAN Foundation
  • Organ donation and tissue donation
  • Difference between coma and brain death
  • Difference between natural death and drain death
  • The organ donation process
  • Organs and tissues that can be donated after natural death and brain death
  • Role of ZTCC
  • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO and SOTTO in organ donation and transplantation
  • Transplant Law
  • MOHAN Foundation’ activities
  • Importance of donor card
  • Using MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number and website
