On 22nd April 2021, three interns cum ambassadors of MOHAN Foundation organised a one-hour session aiming to create public awareness and to provide insight regarding the concepts of organ and tissue donation. The session was well attended by a group of 33 college students, housewives, IT employees and others.
The first segment which included the general concepts of organ donation and understanding of brain death was covered by Ms. Diana Kasiya Mary. This was followed by criteria to be a donor, registering a donor and religions views about organ donation, presented by Ms. Kavya. In the final segment a heart recipient’s story was narrated, statistics, myths and facts related to organ donation were explained by Ms. Subashini. The participants were given an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.
After the session thank you messages were sent to every participant. Donor card registration link and the toll free organ donation helpline number were also shared.
The entire event was co-ordinated with the support of Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer at MOHAN Foundation.
