Organ Donation Awareness at the In-service Police Training Centre, Tirunelveli

• MOHAN Foundation was invited by the In-service Police Training Centre in Tirunelveli to conduct an organ donation awareness programme on 21st November 2019. Around 25 Inspectors and the Sub Inspectors attended the session. Ms. Kavitha. S, Transplant Coordinator from Trivandrum, Kerala was the speaker.

   The session started by explaining the basics of organ donation. She explained the following in detail:

  • Organ Donation and its Need
  • The why, when, where, what and how of organ donation was elaborately explained
  • Organs that  can be donated at different conditions
  • Brain Death
  • THO Act
  • TRANSTAN
  • DONOR Card
  • Helpline
  • Role of Police

  The session lasted for more than an hour with a brief Q&A session. MOHAN Foundation thanks the Police Training College, Chennai for helping to spread the word.
