  On 6^th February 2020, the NSS unit of Dr. Ambedkar College of Law in Deeksha Bhoomi, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to educate the NSS students about deceased organ donation. The NSS In-charge briefly introduced organ donation and Mr. Bulu Behera, the Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation to the audience.

  Mr. Bulu Behera gave information on the following subjects:

  • What is organ donation?
  • Whom to contact for organ donation?
  • The Transplantation of Human Organs Act 1994
  • What is natural death and brain death?
  • What is the eye donation process?
  • What is the body donation process?
  • Causes of brain death
  • Role of ZTCC in organ donation and transplantation
  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation, using its website and helpline number

  Questions asked by participants:

  • What is brain death?
  • What is the time duration for organ donation?
  • What is bone marrow?

  Around 60 students attended the session and 12 of them signed consent forms and took donor cards. At the end of the session NSS In-charge delivered the vote of thanks, thanking MOHAN Foundation as well as the participants.
