On October 25, 2025, the NCR office of MOHAN Foundation was invited by The Heritage School (THS), Rohini, New Delhi, to set up an organ donation awareness stall on the school campus during their Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) day.
The initiative was coordinated by Ms. Aparajita Singh, PGT (Social Science), THS, who reached out to the MOHAN Foundation NCR office after obtaining the contact details from the Foundation’s website. She then liaised with Ms. Simran Anand, Programme Officer, MOHAN Foundation NCR, to organize the stall.
THS runs a regular programme of community-based, student-led social service initiatives focusing on experiential learning, sustainability, and civic responsibility. Each year, the school selects a specific theme such as environmental and waste management, community outreach, health and awareness campaigns, inclusion, and student-driven projects.
The theme for this year was “Religious Waste Management and Health Awareness Campaign.” Under this theme, students set up stalls where parents could bring religious waste after Diwali for proper disposal. Another stall showcased and sold items made by students using recycled waste materials.
Ms. Simran, along with students and teachers, set up the organ donation awareness stall, which displayed informative posters, flyers, donor cards, and a QR code for online pledging. Visitors were educated about the importance of organ donation and guided through the process of registering as organ donors.
Nearly 50 parents visited the stall and interacted with the team to learn more about organ donation. Around 30 parents pledged their organs by registering themselves during the event.
The initiative successfully created awareness, encouraged meaningful conversations, and inspired both parents and students to support the cause of organ donation.
