On 29th December 2023, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awarenesssession for Fire Fighters and Silent Workers (Guards) of the Fire Station. The session was organised by Mr Mr. Arun Ram Krishan Bhoyar In charge of Vashi Fire Station and conducted by Ms Prarthana Dwivedi. She introduced MOHAN Foundation as an NGO working passionately for deceased organ donation past 23 years. She explained the difference between Cardiac Death Brain Death in-depth. Then she elaborated about the organs tissues that can be donated by both the cases. She alsoi ntroduced the public about new advances like Hand Donation. She explained about tissue donation (skin, eyes and bones). She then discussedabout Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain-Dead case andnumber of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor.Ms Prarthana discussed about Myths around Organ donation that most families of deceased donor have and how to debunk them by explainingrelevant facts. Lastly Ms.Prarthana described the importance of discussing about Organ Donation within the family and to carry Donor Card always inpurse or wallet.About 22 people attended session and 14 took the pledge to be an OrganDonor. Informative flyers were also distributed to staff members of fire station. We thank Mr Mr. Arun Ram Krishan Bhoyar for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
