On October 1, 2025, the eve of DhammachakraPravartan Din and Dussehra, MOHAN Foundation
set up an Organ Donation Awareness Information Desk at Dikshabhumi, Nagpur. Informational
brochures titled “Gift of Life” were distributed to visitors to promote awareness about organ and
    tissue donation.
Dikshabhumi holds great historical and spiritual significance as the sacred site where Bharat Ratna
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, along with his followers, embraced Buddhism on October 14, 1956 — an
event that coincided with Dussehra (Vijayadashami). Today, DhammachakraPravartan Din is
often celebrated in conjunction with the Dussehra festival, also known as Ashoka Vijayadashami,
symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the awakening of enlightenment.
The information desk was managed by Ms. Neha Sailwar, Program Executive, and Ms. Veena
Wathore, Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation. The initiative received an encouraging response
from visitors and devotees by distributing nearly 300 brochures.
MOHAN Foundation extended heartfelt gratitude to the ONGC team for their collaboration and
support in making this organ donation awareness initiative a success.
