Organ Donation Awareness Captivates Students and Faculty at ZPHS Kurmidda

  • On November 4, 2025, an inspiring and highly successful organ donation awareness session was held at the Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) in Kurmidda. The program aimed to instill the importance of organ donation among the youth and educators in the community.

    The session, expertly led by Project Manager Mr. Venkatesh Kattela, utilized a dynamic and engaging PowerPoint (PPT) presentation. The presentation was strategically integrated into the school schedule to ensure minimal disruption to academic activities.

    The initiative was met with enthusiastic participation, captivating over 135 students and faculty members spanning grades 6 to 10.

    The comprehensive discussion was tailored to a school audience, covering foundational aspects of organ donation, including:

    • The definition and various types of organ donation.
    • The life-saving difference between brain death and cardiac arrest.
    • The critical need for organ donors in India.
    • Addressing common myths and misconceptions using relatable examples.
    • The significance of discussing the decision with family members.

    The session successfully translated awareness into action, ending on a high note with a significant number of attendees pledging their support for this life-saving cause. Crucially, 10 faculty members made a formal pledge to donate their organs, setting a powerful example for the students.

    This successful engagement with the educational sector underscores the growing willingness among young people and their mentors to become advocates for organ donation, fostering a culture of compassion and generosity for the future.
