    The MOHAN Foundation successfully conducted a six-week online course on ‘Transplant Coordination Professional Certificate’ from January 3, 2024, to February 14, 2024. The course attracted 57 participants from various regions of India and one from Saudi Arabia.

    Participants were given access to the e-learning platform where they could access study materials and resources for the course. The course structure also included online assignments and assessments, providing participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding.

    Weekly interactive webinars, showcasing experts in organ donation and transplantation, were integrated into the training. Participants had the opportunity to actively participate and interact with the speakers during these sessions.

    The webinars focused on essential topics related to;

    • Concepts of organ donation and transplantation
    • Transplantation of Human Organs Act and its provisions
    • Brainstem death - Concept, identification and certification
    • Role of donor coordinator in deceased donor transplant programme
    • Ethical aspects of organ donation and transplantation
    • Counselling grieving families and approaching them for organ donation
    • Coordinating live donation and transplant

    The faculty included:

    • Mr. Gipson John, Senior Manager, Aster Hospitals, Bengaluru

    A course completion certificate was issued to candidates who successfully fulfilled the course requirements through an online examination held on February 15, 2024.
