

Ms. Pallavi Kumar was invited as a speaker at the Organ Donation and Transplantation Workshop’ on September 14 -15, 2022 as part of the GICS (Global Intensive Care Symposium) 2022 organized at Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru.
Ms. Kumar spoke on “Grief Counseling and Organ Donation- Counsellors perspective” in which she spoke about the various stages of grief, how to approach families for organ donation, the right and wrong approach and the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ in counseling such families.
Other sessions in the workshop included management of a deceased multiorgan donor, circulatory death in India, organ allocation in India, mandatory & ancillary tests to confirm brain death, organ donation from ECMO patients etc.
More than 100 Transplant Coordinators and nurses attended the session.
