Motivational talk for the students and staff of Agarwal Vidyalaya Chennai on Organ Donation

  • On 9th April 2014 Agarwal Vidyalaya,Vepery, Chennai invited MOHAN Foundation, Chennai to conduct an Organ Donation Awareness talk for students of 12th standard and Staff. Ms. Kavitha Marketing Manager and Ms. Sunitha Transplant coordinator conducted the programme and conducted the session for them. 100 students and 12 staff participated in the session.

     

    The Programme was started with the welcome address and introduction speech given by Mr.Bala Murugan, faculty of the school. He highlighted the role played by MOHAN Foundation and important of Transplantation. Followed by it Ms.Kavitha started the session with the Ice Breaker to make the students to open up and actively participate in the session.

     

    The session started off with the students sharing their knowledge and views about the Concept.  Ms. Kavitha explained  to them in detail about organ donation; about brain death; the difference between cardiac death, brain death and coma; what organs and tissues can be donated; Real Donor Stories and importance of a donor card. Also, a short film and a flash presentation on organ donation were screened to further emphasize the importance of pledging ones organs.

     

    The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Satish Babu, faculty  of Agarwal Vidyalaya. He also convey his wish to become a volunteer in MOHAN Foundation and also promised that he going to organize a programme on third week of June 2014 for the new students who going to join in 9th and 11th standard (Agarwal Vidyalaya) and other schools in Chennai

     

    Totally 75 faculty convey their wish to pledge for a donor card.
