On 13th December 2014, MOHAN Foundation Hyderabad was invited by Mr. Mohan Nishtala to organize Organ Donation information/awareness stall as a part of Fourth N.V. Lakshmi Memorial Lecture at Bharti Vidya Bhavan. Mr. Mohan donated his wife, Mrs. N.V. Lakshmi’s organs when she was declared brain dead in June 2011.
The memorial lecture was delivered by Sri. Akella Raghavendra, eminent Telugu author. After the memorial lecture, the audience was requested to visit the stall for information on organ donation. There were more than 500 participants that have pledged to donate organs and were distributed donor cards, family donor cards, information brochures and activity reports.
We thank Mr. Mohan Nishtala for taking this noble initiative of promoting organ donation in commemoration of Mrs. N.V. Lakshmi and also thank the volunteers of N. V. Lakshmi Foundation for their support during the event.
