  • On August 16, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), 14 Manipur (M) Battalion, conducted an organ donation awareness session alongside a felicitation ceremony for cadets who had participated in the Republic Day celebrations. The programme took place at the Auditorium Hall, NCC Headquarters, Imphal. It was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) and Project Lead (Manipur), supported by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, and Mrs. Thaudem Mayarani Devi, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.

The programme was coordinated by Major Vigyan Rajkumar, Officiating Commanding Officer, 14 (M) Battalion NCC, and Squadron Leader M. Sandip Singh, Commanding Officer, 1 (M) Air Squadron NCC, along with the Permanent Instructor Staff.

Ms. Monica introduced MOHAN Foundation’s work and delivered an interactive presentation on organ donation. The session covered the global and national scenario of organ donation, the differences between brainstem death and coma, the types of organs that can be donated, and the eligibility criteria for becoming a donor. She also highlighted the current status of organ donation in India and Manipur, addressed common misconceptions, and encouraged cadets to pledge and carry a donor card. Personal stories of organ donors from India and Manipur, accompanied by photographs of pledgers, made the session highly relatable. She concluded by asking, “Are you ready?” to which the cadets enthusiastically responded, “Yes, we are ready.”

Following the session, Major Vigyan Rajkumar expressed his appreciation to MOHAN Foundation, describing the programme as an eye-opener. He shared a video showcasing the cadets’ training and preparations for the Republic Day celebrations, which served as a source of pride and motivation. The felicitation of cadets was then carried out in recognition of their achievements.

Squadron Leader Sandip Singh addressed the gathering, emphasizing the life-saving potential of organ donation, and proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging MOHAN Foundation’s efforts and the enthusiastic participation of the cadets. The programme concluded with the cadets singing the NCC Anthem followed by the National Anthem, bringing the event to a dignified close.

The event was attended by nearly 100 participants and proved to be both informative and inspiring, leaving a strong message of service, pride, and humanity.
