MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation on the occasion of ISCCM Foundation Day in Bhubaneswar

  • On 10th October 2017, on the occasion of ISCCM (Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine) Foundation Day in Bhubaneswar, MOHAN Foundation's representative was invited as a guest speaker. There were a total of 35 Intensivists who joined the programme. The theme of the programme was Organ Donation. Presentations were made on Hyponatremia and Hypokalemia by Dr. Subhashish. Dr. Jayanti, Asst. Professor, IMS & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar presented on the topic “Brain Death – Identification, Declaration & Certification”.

     

    Ms. Anindita Sabath, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Odisha represented MOHAN Foundation in the programme. She spoke on the legal aspects of Organ Donation in Odisha, the current scenario of Organ Donation in the state, the present status of Deceased Donation Programme, the role of a Transplant Coordinator and also about the mandatory declaration of Brain Death. She gave an update about the status of the Jeevan Upahar Scheme that is proposed for Odisha in accordance with the  Jeevandaan Scheme, Andhra Pradesh. Grief Counselling and de-coupling was also discussed.

     

    MOHAN Foundation's brochures and donor cards were distributed to all the guests. A memento was presented to Ms. Anindita Sabath for gracing the occasion.
