  • On March 14, 2023, the MOHAN Foundation (MF) conducted a session on organ donation for the female police trainees at the Traffic Police Headquarter (TPH) in Todapur, New Delhi. These trainees were undergoing police constable (PC) final training. On March 13, 2023, Ms. Simran Anand, Program Officer, MOHAN Foundation, had met with Smt. Geeta Rani Verma, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police-Traffic (Zone 1), Delhi Police, to discuss the possibility of conducting a session on organ donation for the police personnel. The participants asked many questions during the sessions. Ms. Simran and Ms. Preeti explained and answered all the queries one by one. To name a few:

    • What is the difference between a coma and brain death?

    • Is there a difference between accidental death and brain death?

    • Does organ donation mutilate the body?

    • Are the patients kept on ventilators even if the families say no to organ donation?

    • How long can organs be stored?

    • What is the time frame for transplanting organs?
