On September 27, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organized an awareness talk on organ donation during a Health Camp under the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” program at Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Imphal.
Representing MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Program Coordinator (Northeast) & Project Lead (Manipur), introduced the Foundation and its mission of promoting organ donation and establishing a sustainable system to save lives.
During her session, Ms. Monica highlighted the life-saving potential of organ donation, explaining both living and deceased donation. She clarified key concepts such as brain death and coma, addressed the demand-supply gap in transplantation, and guided students on how and who can register as donors. By dispelling myths with evidence-based information, she inspired participants to consider pledging their organs and fostered a spirit of altruism within the community.
Information pamphlets on organ and tissue donation were distributed among the students. Nearly 160 students attended the session, leaving with a deeper understanding of organ donation and its vital role in saving lives.
