On September 2, 2025, MOHAN Foundation was invited by ORGAN India, an initiative of the Parashar Foundation, to attend the press conference and felicitation ceremony celebrating Team India’s historic performance at the World Transplant Games 2025. The event took place at the Auditorium, India International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The Foundation was represented by Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director of MF NCR, and Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi, Program Manager of MF NCR—highlighting the Foundation’s longstanding collaboration with ORGAN India in championing organ donation awareness.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics Bharat, as Chief Guest, and Dr. Anil Kumar, Director of NOTTO (National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization), as Guest of Honour.
ORGAN India showcased its commitment to transplant sports by fielding Team India, a 57-member contingent including 49 organ recipients and 8 living donors. The team delivered an outstanding performance in Dresden, winning 63 medals — 16 gold, 22 silver, and 23 bronze — a remarkable leap from 35 medals in 2023, and securing India’s best-ever finish at the World Transplant Games with a 13th place global ranking. This remarkable achievement highlights not only the spirit of the athletes but also the possibilities of leading a healthy, active life after organ donation and transplantation.
In his brief remarks, Dr. Anil Kumar, Director of NOTTO, congratulated the transplant athletes for bringing laurels to the nation and called it "a proud moment for India." His words underscored the legal and institutional significance of such achievements for promoting organ donation.
Chief Guest Dr. Mallika Nadda addressed the audience with heartfelt praise for the athletes, calling them “ambassadors of fitness”. She applauded their resilience and ability to dismantle stigma surrounding organ donation, while advocating for their recognition within India’s national sports framework. Her speech underscored the transformative power of these athletes not just to compete, but to inspire and lead the narrative around organ transplantation.
