  • On February 7, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized a sensitization program for police personnel at Baijalbari Police Station, Khowai, Tripura, to enhance awareness on organ donation and transplantation and to highlight the important role of police in the process.

The session was led by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, Tripura. Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Organ Donation Ambassador of Tripura, who received training under the Angels of Change program in December 2025 organized by MOHAN Foundation, supported the coordination and organization of the event.

The program began with a welcome address and brief introduction by Mr. Jugal Tripura, Inspector and Officer-in-Charge of Baijalbari Police Station. This was followed by an interactive session conducted by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, who spoke about the significance of organ donation and how one donor can save multiple lives. He also addressed common myths and misconceptions related to organ donation and encouraged participants to actively support and spread awareness about this life-saving cause.

Mr. Debbarma highlighted the crucial role played by the police, particularly in medico-legal cases where timely coordination and support are essential. He also spoke about the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994, and encouraged participants to read and understand the provisions of the Act to gain clarity on the legal framework established by the Government of India.

The step-by-step process of organ donation was explained in detail to ensure better understanding among the participants. Organ donation awareness leaflets were distributed to reinforce the key messages shared during the session.

Mr. Jugal Tripura appreciated the initiative and stated that it is important for everyone to understand organ donation and also consider pledging. He encouraged the police personnel to share this message both at work and within their communities, as it can help those in need who are still unaware about organ donation and transplantation.

The program was attended by 30 police personnel.
