

On October 28, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Mantripukhri, Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, along with Mr. Victor Rajkumar, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Kiran, Program Head, Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), with active support from the UPHC staff.
Mr. Bidyananda opened the session with an introduction to the concept of organ donation, highlighting the vital organs that can be donated and the different types of donations. He explained the distinction between brain stem death and coma, addressed common misconceptions, and emphasized the importance of family consent in the donation process. Concluding the session, he guided participants on how to pledge for organ donation and stressed the need to inform their family members after making the pledge.
Information pamphlets on organ donation were distributed among participants to reinforce their understanding. Nearly 25 individuals, including some children, attended the session and gained valuable insights into the life-saving potential of organ donation.
