MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Session at OPD, District Hospital, Thoubal

  • On September 6, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of District Hospital, Thoubal. The session was led by Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) & Project Lead (Manipur), along with Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, and Mrs. Thaudem Mayarani Devi, Program Executive.

     

    The program was organized in coordination with Dr. W. Ruhinikumar Singh, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Thoubal, and the hospital support staff.

     

    Ms. Monica introduced MOHAN Foundation and its initiatives to promote organ donation across Manipur. She explained the concept and significance of organ donation, the types of donation, and the distinction between brainstem death and coma. Addressing myths and misconceptions, she encouraged participants to pledge as donors and carry a donor card. She also shared inspiring stories of donors and recipients from India and Manipur, emphasizing the need for awareness in communities and reminding everyone that organ donation transcends religion, caste, and creed.

     

    Information pamphlets on organ donation were distributed, and nearly 30 participants from diverse backgrounds attended the session, gaining valuable insights into the importance of organ donation.
