On, 11th June, 2015 MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. Ashish Singhal, Liver & Biliary Transplant Surgeon, to conduct an awareness talk at Fortis Hospital; Mohali for the members of Senior Citizen Association, Mohali .The lecture was organized by Fortis Hospital for SCA on “Lifestyle Modifications for a Healthy Liver”. Dr Ashish Singhal emphasized on “the ways of liver care and lifestyle modification for a healthy liver.” He also touched upon a bit about organ donation and invited Mr. Sudhir Dewan for an awareness talk on Organ Donation.
Mr. Sudhir Dewan talked about organ donation in detail to the audience and discussed his own journey after transplantation. He also shared how transplantation has changed his life . He emphasised as to how the Senior Citizens can motivate public on Organ Donation after Brain Death. After the lecture the audience asked many questions about organ donation and body donation. It was an interactive session attended by over 200 people.
Around 50 donor cards were picked and the information brochures were also distributed among the audience.
