KAP Survey & Community Sensitization on Organ Donation – Kohima, Nagaland

Updated on Tuesday, June 9, 2026
  • From May 19- 23, 2026, Mr. Lirenthung N. Kithan, Project Lead, and Ms. Sedekieno Rino, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Nagaland, conducted a Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) Survey across selected communities in Kohima, Nagaland. The survey was administered through one-to-one interactions using a structured questionnaire to assess public awareness, perceptions, and practices related to organ donation and transplantation.

During the survey period, the team interacted with 25 individuals. In addition to collecting survey responses, community sensitization was undertaken to enhance awareness about organ donation and transplantation. Participants were introduced to MOHAN Foundation, its mission, and its ongoing efforts to promote deceased and living organ donation in Nagaland. Information was shared on the importance of organ donation, the increasing need for organ donors in India, and the life-saving impact of organ and tissue donation for patients awaiting transplantation.

The findings of the KAP survey will help identify existing knowledge gaps, attitudes, and barriers related to organ donation within the community. These insights will support the planning and implementation of targeted awareness programmes, advocacy initiatives, and community outreach activities aimed at strengthening organ donation awareness and encouraging donor registrations across Nagaland.
