Human Chain by Students of Sri Rajaji Vidya Bhavan School to promote Organ Donation

  • On 17th January 2014, Young Indian (Of Confederation of Indian Industry) organized a Human Chain to promote organ donation with help of Sri Rajaji Vidya Bhavan School and MOHAN Foundation.

     

    Young Indians (YI) is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non- government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organisation playing a proactive role in India’s development process. YI has around 1500 direct members in 32 chapters and engages around 8300 students through students net.

     

    To commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, YI organized to from a human chain from Sri Rajaji Vidya Bhavan School along Taylor Road, Kilpauk, Chennai. Nearly 150 children participated in forming the human chain. Dr. Sumama Navin, Course Director, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai addressed the gathering. In the talk she stressed on when, where, what, who and How.  At the end of her talk she invited Mr. Avinash, kidney recipient to share his experience. Mr. Avinash said that when he was in the 5th standard, he was diagnosed with kidney failure due the Cadaver Transplantation he got a new life and now he holds his Doctorate in Biotech.

     

    The students identified with Avinash and were moved by his message. Following that Mr. Ajith, Principal, Sri Rajaji Vidya Bhavan School, Kilpauk, Chennai gave opening announcement of the Human Chain.
