Education programme on Heart Valve Transplantation for Eye bank Counselors, Hyderabad

  • MOHAN Foundation organized a half-day education programme for Eye bank counselors on Heart Valve donation and transplantation on 2nd February 2013.

     

    Speakers for the session were:

    1. Indications of heart and heart valve transplantation - Dr. Hemanth of Care Hospital, Banjara Hills
    2. Experiences with heart valve transplantation at Innova Hospitals - Dr. K.S. Murthy, Chairman, Innova Children’s Hospital
    3. Brain death & organ donation - Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation

     

    Around 18 eye bank counselors from Ramayamma International Eye Bank and Vasan Eye Bank were present.  The sessions were very informative and interactive, with counselors asking several questions.  The session concluded with the counselors’ promise that they will definitely motivate for heart valves donation, in addition to eye donation.
