Dr. Bhanu Prakash invited as the speaker at AIR Vishakhapatnam to commemorate Organ Donation Day

  • On the occasion of Organ donation day, 13th August 2022, Dr. Bhanu Prakash, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation was invited by All India Radio Visakhapatnam as a guest speaker on their live interview named as “Sagarika” to commemorate Organ Donation day. The show was conducted in Telugu language  to reach the regional masses in the city of Andhra Pradesh. The show “Sagarika” was conducted by RJ Shivani, Radio Jockey, AIR Visakhapatnam 102 MHz FM.

     

    All INDIA Radio 102 FM in Siripuram, Visakhapatnam came into existence in the year 2007 and has,since then, been a known name in its field.     The interviewer asked the following questions to Dr. Prakash for a detailed understanding of Organ donation to the listeners:

    • Brain Death and how to determine brain death
    • The difference between coma and brain death
    • Is there any age limit for organ donation
    • Contraindications for donating organs
    • Process of signing up as an organ donor
    • What are the legal provisions for Organ donors in India.
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation in promoting deceased organ donation.

     

    Dr Prakash gave a detailed insight on the aforementioned questions to the radio listeners and enlightened them on the need and importance of organ donors in the country. He motivated the listeners to pledge for organ donation and also emphasised on the importance of organ donation awareness.

     

    The interview was telecasted at 16:00 hours at All India Radio 102 FM. The same was posted a few hours ago before the program on their twitter handle and close to 7000 tweets (6489 tweets) were received.
