  MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur   to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license on 8^th March 2016.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points-

  • What is live organ donation & it is legal?
  • What is clinical test?
  • Which hospital is doing kidney transplant in Nagpur?

  • Importance and need of organ donation.
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death.
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation.
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 45 drivers were presented during the talk. 15 drivers took the consent form they will discuss with their family members then sign consent form.

  The Participants asked the following questions:-

  What is the process of Body donation?

  What is the age limit for organ donation?
