When Mr. S. A. Ponnusamy called this morning (4th May 2011) it seemed like a routine call asking for information on organ donation. But it turned out that it was his 37th birthday and that he wanted to come to MOHAN Foundation (Chennai) to take a pledge to donate his organs on this special day. We said that he would be most welcome. When he arrived at the office, we were pleasantly surprised to find that his wife, Susheela, 36, and his two children, Thenmozhi, 13, and Ponmanigandan, 10, had accompanied him. He said that children also needed to know about the importance of organ donation. Both Mr. Ponnusamy and Susheela took Donor Cards and expressed their support for the cause. Mr. Ponnusamy said that since he was the head of the Tamil Nadu Milk Welfare Association, he would like organize an organ donation awareness programme for the members. For us at MOHAN Foundation, today was a day when we truly celebrated the milk of human kindness, thanks to Mr. S. A. Ponnusamy.
